The Resident Advisory Council on Housing (RACH) is a dedicated group supported by the Community Development Alliance (CDA), committed to empowering Milwaukee residents in shaping initiatives that promote affordable housing. Comprising 14 diverse residents, RACH ensures that the voices and experiences of our neighborhoods guide our work.

About Our Goals.

We strive to foster community collaboration and ensure that residents' voices play a vital role in influencing housing policies. We align our goal with the CDA's goal of advancing racial equity, ensuring that all Milwaukeeans have access to quality, affordable housing.

What We Do.

Review Housing Projects: We serve as a review panel for housing strategies, ensuring they reflect community needs.

Advocate for Rights and Funding: Our council is committed to promoting housing rights and securing funding for affordable initiatives.

Engage with City Alliances: Through collaboration with local government and organizations, we educate residents on crucial housing issues.

How We Operate.

Resident-Led: Our council prioritizes representation from neighborhoods needing affordable housing, including those involved in the Revitalizing Our Neighborhoods (RON) initiative. We encourage multiple representatives from the same area to ensure diverse perspectives.

Meetings: We hold quarterly meetings to discuss ongoing projects and gather feedback. Attendance and active participation are essential for our mission.

Compensation: Members receive $100 for each quarterly meeting attended, with potential additional compensation for participating in the CDA Governance Board.

To join the council, residents can submit a nomination form, which includes a brief statement on why they wish to serve and how they will contribute to our mission. The nomination process will be announced shortly, with selected candidates announced shortly thereafter.
